Anna is a senior lawyer with over a decade of experience in IP and commercial matters. Having spent ten years working in IP litigation, she now focuses primarily on non-contentious IP, commercial contracts and data protection for tech clients.
Anna’s experience as a litigator gives her a unique perspective when drafting contracts, always on the lookout for clauses or issues that could spark or exacerbate a dispute between the parties. Understanding how disputes can unfold allows Anna to draft documents in a way that minimises the risk of issues arising down the line!
Anna has supported and represented clients in the technology sector throughout her career. She has worked extensively with high profile clients including Nintendo, helping them to secure a number of website blocking injunctions to prevent the dissemination of pirate games and consoles (one of which won Impact Case of the Year at the Managing IP EMEA Awards 2020).
Anna is praised by clients for her hard work and attention to detail, as well as her ability to offer creative and strategic solutions.
Anna keeps well abreast of legal tech issues and is a committee member for the Society for Computers and Law.
Anna lives in Kendal, near the Lake District, with her husband and two small children. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, running and spending time with family.
Working in litigation has given me a good sense as to which aspects of a contract may cause issues between the parties further down the line. As an IP lawyer, I am also very alive to branding and associated intellectual property issues that clients should consider at the outset of a negotiation.
