Anthony Bekker founded Biztech Lawyers after leading both legal and operations at e-commerce marketing unicorn Rokt – helping grow it 10x from Sydney, to Singapore, the US and then Europe.
Anthony loves helping technology companies realise their global ambitions and solve their most complex problems; bringing a practical and highly commercial approach to legal matters. That approach is born of a breadth of experience helping hundreds of startups and scaleups, stints in strategy consulting and banking as well as an INSEAD MBA.

Alison is a senior technology lawyer with extensive experience, most of which has been gained at a boutique London IT/IP law firm where she trained and worked for 17 years. Alison has supported and advised tech sector innovators, from individual developers to multinational corporations and everything in between.
Skilled at drafting and negotiating a very broad range of commercial contracts, Alison has been praised in legal directories for her deep knowledge of technology and the associated law. Clients value her pragmatic approach and willingness to help them make informed decisions, as much as her expertise.

Chris Spillman formally joined his U.S.-based practice with Biztech Lawyers, Australia in July 2021, though the two groups had worked as co-counsel on several matters prior to that time.
In his career, Chris has in big-law, in-house and small firm settings represented technology companies, private equity firms, family businesses, and others in an array of matter types, developing extensive experience in commercial and corporate transactions. His contract negotiation and drafting experience ranges from employment agreements to stock purchase agreements, from software licensing to offshore services arrangements, and many other applications in between.

Well versed in corporate and transactional law, Julie Collin’s experience spans from entity formation and corporate transactions to real estate, business, and banking.
Julie began her practice in litigation, and the negotiation and drafting skills from those years inform her present day corporate and transactional practice.
Julie is also well versed in contract reviews and NDA’s in the technology sector.

Rashad is an experienced corporate attorney more than ready to help you manage your negotiations and resolve your complex litigation matters.
In Rashad’s previous role as Associate General Counsel for a multinational corporation, Advanced Nutrients, he became an expert in navigating regulatory uncertainty, mitigating potential criminal liability and commercial limitations for Cannabis Law.

Andrew has focussed his practice on the intersection between aviation and technology with a specific focus on Data (Privacy and Cyber), Information Technology (Cloud, SaaS, Infrastructure, Outsourcing and IP), and Insurance (Aviation, PI & Cyber).
Andrew has advised airlines like JetAsia and Qantas Airways, and market leading travel sector technology provider, Amadeus. During this period, Andrew was exposed to passenger system (PSS) and Distribution (GDS and NDC) transactions with many leading airlines, including managing data protection and cyber risks.
Anna Ward

Anna is an intellectual property and commercial lawyer with over ten years of experience. She works with clients in the tech sector on protecting and commercialising their IP and negotiating a range of commercial contracts.
Anna has worked with clients on all manner of intellectual property issues including brand protection, trade mark disputes and copyright licensing. She has managed complex disputes from their inception through to Court proceedings or settlement, including advice on litigation strategy and dispute resolution.

Ed Gehres is a Washington, DC lawyer with nearly 25 years experience as a litigator, crisis counselor, political advocate, and corporate leader. Blake has guided the sale and acquisition of numerous SMBs serving markets in fintech, the national security and intelligence community, entertainment, and food and beverage.
Sherwin Noorian

Sherwin is the only dual qualified, dual-citizen United States and Australian immigration lawyer based in and practising out of Australia.
Sherwin has ten years of US immigration law experience and has been practising US immigration law out of Australia for nearly five years. Sherwin’s business immigration experience ranges from supporting the US immigration needs of some of the most innovative and ambitious Australian startups doing business in the US through to ASX-listed corporates sending employees to the US.
Janzyl Go
Jan is a Lawyer in the Sydney Team with a background working in market research, advertising and public relations. She draws on that experience to assist the team with various corporate and commercial matters in M&A, cap raising, IP commercialisation and more. She works closely with senior lawyers to assist clients in their growth and expansion. Her interest in research has also brought her to present her thesis in the International Conference for Business and Economics.
Casper Xiao
Casper is a Lawyer in the Sydney Team with a strong interest in technology and how they can better assist both lawyers and clients alike. His interest in technology to using a no-code development platform to create an app for a Pro Bono law firm to better streamline operations. Prior to joining Biztech, Casper worked as a Lawyer at a law firm specializing in commercial property transactions and at a pro bono human rights law firm assisting asylum seekers and refugees with human rights and immigration matters.

Kelly Skalsky has a diverse corporate paralegal background supporting in-house counsel on business contracts, merger and acquisitions and international business development. Over seven years of experience primarily in the direct marketing and franchise industries providing her expertise in drafting and negotiating, managing trademark portfolios, litigation support and entity formation.
