Dion English
Dion began his career as a big-law associate at international law firm White & Case LLP, rotating through the Finance, M&A/Private Equity and Infrastructure teams. Settling in the Finance team, Dion honed his expertise in infrastructure and acquisition financing. Having worked both in Hong Kong and Melbourne, he has developed a broad understanding of complex cross-border commercial transactions.
Dion’s experience includes acting sell-side for private equity powerhouse the Carlyle Group on several major transactions within Asia, as well as representing the financiers on the EUR2.7 billion project financing of the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan. Dion also acts buy-side, having advised Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners on their acquisition of Swancor Renewables, and has experience representing government clients – advising the Victorian State Government in relation to the AUD11 billion public-private partnership component of the Melbourne Metro Tunnel rail project.
Working at Biztech, Dion has translated his finance and M&A experience into the tech world – assisting tech businesses, angel investors and start-ups with strategic acquisitions, equity investments, acquisition financing and corporate advisory services.
After spending close to a decade in Australia’s cultural capital, Dion has traded Melbourne for the warm weather and beaches of Sydney. When he’s not listening to podcasts and reading books about all things tech and business, you can find him in acting classes around the city, swimming laps or hanging out with friends.
