Chris Spillman

Chris launched the firm’s practice in the United States and heads operations and growth in the Americas. He started his legal career in BigLaw as an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, in their Chicago office and private equity group. After a stint serving as General Counsel and Chief Financial Officer for a business process outsourcing company, Chris ventured on his own and founded Spillman&Partners (S&P formally joined with Biztech Lawyers (Australia) in July 2021). Chris also served as General Counsel for the fintech startup Quadpay, facilitating its acquisition by Zip Co Ltd. in Sept 2020. 

In his career, Chris has worked in big-law, in-house and small firm settings representing technology companies, private equity firms, family businesses, and others in an array of matter types, developing extensive experience in commercial and corporate transactions. Chris helps his clients structure joint ventures, buy and sell multiple US and non-US companies, finance global growth through debt, equity and hybrid offerings, and negotiate global tech agreements and commercial contracts with national and global B2B and B2C brands.
